Christa Andrews with Black Alabamians for Education held a Clergy luncheon in Fairfield, AL discussing a potential charter school in the area. Christa gave the pastors information about the Charter School Law in Alabama. The pastors were in agreement that many children need something different to get them off the current trajectory of crime and that parents need more information to help advocate for their children.
Dr. Calandra Sales, the proposed Charter School founder, attended the meeting. She shared her vision for the school. The pastors were able to ask her questions and get direct answers.
The pastors overwhelmingly felt that the session was informative and that their knowledge of charter schools was increased.
