Neonta Williams | Founder & Executive Director, Black Alabamians for Education
Neonta Williams is the host of The Advocates Chair and the driving force behind Black Alabamians for Education (BA4E). A passionate advocate, nonprofit leader, and community strategist, Neonta has dedicated her career to ensuring that Black students in Alabama have access to high-quality education and the opportunities they deserve.
Born and raised in Alabama, Neonta’s “why” runs deep. She knows firsthand the challenges Black families face in navigating the education system — and she believes that when families are informed and empowered, entire communities thrive. Through her leadership at BA4E, she has mobilized parents, educators, and stakeholders to engage in policy discussions, demand equity, and fight for better schools.
On The Advocates Chair, Neonta brings this same energy to the mic. Her role as host is not just to ask questions but to create space for authentic, relatable conversations with policymakers, parents, school leaders, and innovators. Whether sharing her own reflections in solo episodes or diving into the stories of guests, Neonta’s goal is simple: to help listeners reconnect with their “why” and feel inspired to advocate for change.
